Purple Sips

Shadows dark
By thoughts denied
Have steamed beyond
The word survive

A living view
Of all I’ve seen
In feelings carved
Can now run free

To never crave
In me again
Nor spoil the taste
Of breathing scent

(painted in 2004)

I really like your paintings.
Wish I were truly multi-talented, multi-lingual!

Hi ren.kat! Thank you very much! I love art a lot and I'm trying to give my best shot doing nice things with it. Though, life has its own speed in guiding us through our learning.

Hi Gilson! Wonderful face in your painting -- very expressive and full of feeling. And the colors in the painting are really beautiful. I love your poem -- I keep rereading it and immersing in both its dark depths and the lightness of running free. As I read your poem, I feel sensations of the earth and sky -- really lovely, Gilson.

Hi Clare! Thanks a lot! It’s incredible how much I’ve changed since I painted this. I can enjoy life now in a way that just wasn’t possible back then. And I guess the poem is about that: being able to breath in a lighter atmosphere, running free.

I have seen that expression on faces so many times... You captured it well.
